Although many disturbances are not apparent to us, certain evil thoughts which are deeply rooted in the mind may still remain.
At some moment we may be quiet and look nice because there are no disturbances to agitate us, but if some disturbances arise, we soon change our attitude and become violent and ugly.
At the same time the sensual pleasure that momentarily appears in the mind we mistakenly regard as happiness.

For some people who want to stay healthy without getting tired of doing hard exercises or spending a lot of money on medicine, laughing may be the alternative activity they have to choose.

What is so special about a smile that really needs to cover up, instead of its description as a facial expression made by involving muscles near mouth and eyes?

Studies find that smiling can improve health condition. It can boost immune system. This might be because when people smiling, they feel more relaxed. Thus, all the organs work well so as the immune system.

Another thing is smiling releases endorphin hormone, which is known as natural pain killer or natural pain relaxant. This endorphin stimulates a feeling of joy and relieves any kind of stresses.
A simple act of smile can also change mood into more positive feeling. In general, a smile is associated with pleasure, happiness or amusement. It is hard to think of something negative while smiling because the smile sends these natural signals of happiness to a body. When happiness comes, mostly negative things will be ignored.

When you have everything in life; power, people and wealth, what else would you seek? The answer is immortality. That is what the movie "Mummy – Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" started its story.

Emperor Han ruled the whole China and surrounding years B.C. He feared nothing except the aging process which would lead to his own death. Thus, he invited a well-known witch to help make him immortal. The witch knew about the cruelty of the emperor, instead of making him immortal, cursed the emperor and all of his army. They turned into statues and years past. The kingdom now was buried with everyone cursed.

Is immortality so precious?

Is it the highest goal? For religious people they might say it is not the highest goal on earth for they believe on eternal life after death.

If we consider only this life time, do you really want to have eternal life? Live forever for years and thousand years or even billion thousand years. Personally, I will not choose that kind of life. For me, quality life is better than quantity life. I do not mind living short time full of happiness than hundreds thousand years living a boring ineffective life.

It will be sad to see other things surround you change while you are not. You will have to watch one by one your families, relatives, friends, and neighbors leave you. Even your house and other stuffs will go old and rotten.

Buddhism said that every component is subject to decay. It is the law of the nature. Unless you find being immortal will benefit you and others, better focus on doing good as much as you can in this mortal life time than thinking on immortality life.

I was a kind of a rebellion - a freedom loving person. I often found other people’s words as challenges and would put all my efforts to prove them wrong. If they said I could not go any further than a mile. I would prove them that I could go over a mile, even two, four or ten miles. I was not easily turned down by negative words; in fact, I got motivated to reach the opposite.

Once, I mistakenly generalized that everyone will do the same as I do when receiving negative words. The problem is one of my friend had a thought for committing a suicide after hearing negative words about her appearance from me.

I never meant to say such a bad thing about her body. In fact, I often tried to build her positive thinking over it. It did not work. Thus, my last hope was, she would get motivated with negative words (like I used to). However, the result was so awful. It would become worse if she really did the suicidal.

Now the question raise in my mind, does ‘word’ matter??
Have you heard about the effects of negative words and positive words to water? There was an experiment of giving positive words only to a glass of water and negative words to the other. Both glasses were put in the freezer for a while. When the ice in both glasses examined, researcher found out that the shape of the ice given positive words are in beautiful crystallized shapes. While the other had irregular randomized shapes.

If words have great effect to non-beings, could you imagine what they do to human?
Thus, we should by now pay attention to our words. Avoid use negative words, especially to children. Praise them or give them reward for they good habits or achievement. Children easily store new things they hear or see to their memories. Since the memories of kids have more space to fill up than adults’ memories. Negative words will stay in their mind for quite a long time and affect their characters building.

Positive words improve their confidence and self-respect, which later develop into respecting others.
Some people might get motivated by negative words, but most of them do not. Appreciations and compliments work better for people in general.

Some people seem to be very resourceful and clever. Being truly resourceful is as easy as understanding your blessings and using the gifts the universe gives you to use to the best of your ability. What!? The universe gives gifts? Many people seem to find a way to make do with what they have. For example: A jacket, a two piece dress, a sweater, a skirt, a sweatshirt, a knit top, a jeans and accessory items can be mixed and matched to create eight unique outfits. Or using left over food items
to create a nutritious meal. In fact, many recipes were created for the purpose of using left-over food.

Soup, goulash, stews, corn beef and hash, mushi pork (chicken) etc. are recipes to use left-over food. Unfortunately, we think our lives are so full that we do not have time to be creative. We decide what resources we need and head for the nearest store to meet our needs. If you take time to examine your blessings, you come to realize that you are fortune and already are well-equipped to be creative. Other examples are: finding a new use for a tool, or determining that you can access knowledge you once thought was obsolete.

Today is a perfect day to take a step back and pursue your goals in order to assess the extent of your material and mental resources. You will then comprehend the full spectrum of the abundance you have from the universe.
You need to have cleverness as your mindset and strive to find fulfillment using your wits and the talents you were born with. You can make full use of your resources as you learn to use your abundance in clever and creative ways.

Tired with your life??

Rather than busy thinking over why others or the world treat you the way you receive…why not try to change your life.

Maybe it’s time to refresh yourself.

These tips might useful and worth to try:
Before you go to bed, write down any positive comments from others about yourself that you could remember.

Try to sleep early (before 10 o’clock) at night. Wear comfortable clothes and make sure you have washed your face, hands and feet.

Do not let your mind occupied by business, works, bills, or other things. Just try to sleep as if you have no problem at all. Even if your mind still wanders, let it think of something nice and peace.

Once you wake up in the morning, first thing to do is to smile. If you could not smile, try to remember the positive comments that you wrote the night before. At least the comment will cheer you up.

Try to do 5-10 minutes meditation. When you sit, try to breathe as normal as possible and focus your mind on loving kindness to other beings.

Go out and breathe some fresh morning air. Do a little exercise with your face and your body. Don’t force yourself and get too exhausted with the exercise. You still need your energy for other activities on that day.

Let the day pass you naturally. The difference is on how you look at the whole situation around you. Put in your mind that good luck will come to you.
Smile to others, even to someone you hate or someone who hates you (or whoever troubles you so much). You will feel you win already by giving smile to your enemies. But please do it sincerely.

When problems come, stay calm. Try to see from different angles to find a solution. Even when you could not find any solutions, just accept and acknowledge the problems. Sometime by accepting the problem, your mind will not focus on the problem anymore, but rather on the solutions or next step to go.

Stay with positive and grateful thinking through the rest of the day and you’ll find that it is a beautiful fresh day.

Life is not that bad, isn’t it???
